Just when you think you had it figured out...

Life is great. You're going along. Things are going well. Then BAM! You're flat on your butt, stunned and looking around for the deer that just ran you over. It's so easy to sing praises and share the love when you're way up high on that mountain...but try a valley. It might be a bad grade, a broken friendship, a fight with a loved one, a misunderstanding at work, or just some funk that's sucking you down like quicksand in July. Whatever it is, don't wait for someone else to fix it. So often, I've found myself bogging down into depression and wondering how I got there. The truth is, it doesn't matter how you got there, but how long you're going to stay there.

Prayer changes things and it doesn't cost a thing. Life is real, but there isn't one person in this world that has gone through something the Lord can't handle. The great thing about God is, you don't have to memorize his telephone number. You don't have to text him to get his attention. Just whisper, "It's me, O Lord. I'm in need of You." It's better than speed dial. We forget so often that God is just a prayer away. He's waiting every day to hear from his children and we neglect our Father. So here's a challenge to everyone...myself included - the next time something comes up that seems a little too much to handle, lift your eyes to the heavens and call on your Saviour.

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help,” ~ Psalms 121:1
